Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the development of new costume projects working with the design team to deliver creative intent including identifying fabrics, trims and accessories
  • Ensure the creative design intent is balanced with practical manufacturing and operational considerations throughout the design, development and production phases
  • Manage vendors development and production pipeline on multiple costume projects
  • Coordinate fittings with key partners and stakeholders
  • Deliver costume and costume development documentation of process for operational and rebuild needs
  • Source new local and international vendors for materials, development, and production while keeping up on the cutting edge of costume production
Basic Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in the Theater, Film or Fashion Industry
  • Proven knowledge of garment construction, techniques and textiles 
  • Demonstrated initiative and strategic thinking ability 
  • Proven planning and organizational skills with an attention to detail 
  • Demonstrated computer skills in a Windows based environment 
  • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills 
  • Demonstrated strong partnering skills with an ability to build relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including extended hours and holidays 
  • Proven leadership experience
  • Demonstrated proficiency with SAP, GUS and Yunique software 
  • Demonstrated buying/negotiating experience 
  • Demonstrated strong project management 
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in Costuming, Costume design, Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, Fine Arts or 5 years’ experience in a Costuming role/equivalent
