Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the development of new costume projects working with the design team to deliver creative intent including identifying fabrics, trims and accessories
- Ensure the creative design intent is balanced with practical manufacturing and operational considerations throughout the design, development and production phases
- Manage vendors development and production pipeline on multiple costume projects
- Coordinate fittings with key partners and stakeholders
- Deliver costume and costume development documentation of process for operational and rebuild needs
- Source new local and international vendors for materials, development, and production while keeping up on the cutting edge of costume production
Basic Qualifications:
- Proven experience in the Theater, Film or Fashion Industry
- Proven knowledge of garment construction, techniques and textiles
- Demonstrated initiative and strategic thinking ability
- Proven planning and organizational skills with an attention to detail
- Demonstrated computer skills in a Windows based environment
- Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills
- Demonstrated strong partnering skills with an ability to build relationships
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to be flexible with work schedule, including extended hours and holidays
- Proven leadership experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with SAP, GUS and Yunique software
- Demonstrated buying/negotiating experience
- Demonstrated strong project management
Required Education
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in Costuming, Costume design, Textiles, Fashion Merchandising, Fashion Design, Fine Arts or 5 years’ experience in a Costuming role/equivalent
