Disney’s Advertising Sales Research team is seeking talented people to Assist us with redefining the future of Television viewing measurement and lead the advertising industry with both linear and streaming television working together.

The Disney Ad Sales Research team delivers actionable insights to drive ad sales revenue. This department supports the entire Disney media portfolio which includes ABC, ESPN, the Disney Channels, Freeform, FX, National Geographic, and with streaming partners Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, as well as the entire ad sales organization. 

Our goal is to remain on the cutting edge of cross-platform research by turning data into insights and managing research ranging from to. We leverage expertise in media, qualitative and quantitative methodologies and data analysis to help shape research design and drive actionable findings for our sales team and brand clients.

A Day in the Life

The Intern of the Advertising Sales Audience Advancement team will support the team in helping our sellers drive revenue across our portfolio. Our team does this by using products that provide us with audience measurement solutions and reach and frequency planning. This person will support the Senior Manager and Senior Analysts on the team in developing go- to- market materials and data story telling narratives.

This group is highly focused on understanding audiences reached in a given campaign across desktop, mobile, CTV and linear devices.  Through this work, audience advancement taps into several vendor solutions for planning and measurement in understanding methodologies, data flows and new ad product offerings. 

The successful candidate will work directly with the Audience Advancement team members, as well as with other internal stakeholders and external research vendors to support solutions in measuring and selling brands under the Disney umbrella (Hulu, ABC, ESPN, FX, Freeform, National Geographic, and more) across the media ecosystem, driving revenue for all of Disney Ad Sales.

Responsibilities
You will...
  • Develop the ability to analyze digital video and TV viewership data and how to summarize it for sellers to drive revenue for our platforms.
  • Develop expertise in our suite of third-party tools for cross platform audience reach and frequency measurement, understanding the different capabilities and limitations between tools.
  • Support Senior Manager and Senior Analysts in growing and overseeing partnerships with third-party party measurement vendors by identifying work stream efficiencies and standardizing metrics across these measurement partners.
  • Understand current and potential clients' research and measurement goals, delivering insights to help meet their needs.
  • Contribute to day-to-day requests for measurement, input into internal trackers, develop brand case studies, sales materials and more.
Basic Qualifications
What we're looking for...
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Prior experience or coursework in Data Analytics, Media/Marketing Research or Advertising.
  • Must be motivated, have strong attention to detail, be personable and curious.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to tell stories with numbers.
  • Patience and willingness to learn new research tools and methodologies.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with competing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Familiarity with Disney Company programming.
Required Education

Currently enrolled as a junior or higher or must have graduated within the past 6 months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree in Advertising, Media, Marketing, Market Research, Data Analytics, Statistics or Social Science that requires strong research and Data skills or related.

The pay rate for this internship in New York, NY is $21.20 per hour.

Internship Eligibility
  • At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program, concurrent to this internship
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Program Dates: The length of this internship is 10-12 weeks, and approximate dates are May/June – August/September 2023.  Interns will work ~40 hours per week and need to provide full availability throughout the internship. 

Housing & Transportation: This internship will be located in New York, NY and interns must be able to provide their own housing and reliable transportation to and from work.
