Job Description
A Day in the Life…
- Collaborating with and supporting the Character Programs & Development, Character Training Manager and Writer Team
- Researching and compiling information to be used in the creative process of compiling Disney Character Foundation Materials
- Participating in brainstorming sessions regarding live entertainment Performer Training Programs, events, and projects
- Writing drafts, creating in-depth Character Biographies, Character dialogue, story summaries, Character Descriptions, and other performance related materials while under the guidance of the Show Writer or Character Training Manager
- Creating notes, editing, and proofreading Character Foundation related materials
What we are looking for…
- Strong oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience writing family friendly stories, dialogue, plays, or other entertainment content
- Special events experience
- Understanding of the Disney brand
- Able to keep confidentiality when dealing source content
- Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Word
Preferred Education:
- Junior, senior, recent graduate or graduate student with a degree in Theatre, Creative Writing, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bi-lingual Spanish/English
- Basic Photoshop knowledge
- Understanding of the production process for developing live entertainment offerings
Required Materials:
- Resume (outlining all of your required qualifications)
- Portfolio – must be submitted in a PDF - include examples of your creative writing style
Internship Eligibility:
- At the time of application, must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR have graduated from college within the past six months OR be currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
- Must possess unrestricted work authorization
- Candidates must be fully available to work full time any time including days, nights, weekends, and holidays for the duration of the internship
- Must have reliable transportation to/from work
- Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines
Program Length: The approximate dates of this 6-month internship are June 2023 through January 2024
