Job Description

The Editing Supervisor is responsible for supervising & supporting the fulfillment of editing assignments for the Telemundo Network News division that includes supporting network newscasts, news features & specials, and digital content.

Job Duties
  • Coordinates the News editing and scheduling needs based on feedback and collaboration with Producers and Reporters
  • Responsible for updating the editing schedule and requesting additional editors when needed
  • Responsible for coordinating editorial assignments for on-air news broadcasts and for news-related digital streaming platforms
  • Provides additional editing support as needed to develop the video portions of newscasts, including reporter packages, VO/SOTs, VO’s, bumps and teases
  • Prepares programs and packages for control room and studio production
  • Responsible for troubleshooting any logistical problems with shooting and/or editing and providing solutions as needed
  • Revises and ensures editing archives and digital file retrieval is properly being managed
  • Works closely with Xytech Scheduling Coordinator(s) and Sr Manager, News Post-Production to update news editors’ assignments
  • Works under the direct supervision of Sr Manager, News Post Production and is responsible for completing any other tasks as assigned by Manager or Supervisor as needed
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 4 years of experience working within a TV/film editing division/department
  • Proven experience using Avid Editing Software, Avid Interplay, and iNews.
  • Working knowledge of NEXIS shared storage systems
  • Experienced with various software and standards for video encoding, authoring and output for distribution to various formats, including web-distribution
  • Highly proficient with Sapphire FX, 3rd party plug-ins and Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Prior experience overseeing Editor schedules or allocation of post production resources
  • Fluent in English & Spanish (both written & verbal)
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 & associated tools

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be willing to work in Miami, Florida
  • Willingness to travel and work overtime, and on weekends with short notice
  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • Must be “on call” 24 hours a day / 7 days a week
  • This position is required to be performed on a Hybrid basis from an NBCUniversal-designated worksite.
