Job Description

The Entertainment Art Specialist (Casual Temporary) is an hourly role responsible for the coordination of existing or outsourced assets and the creation of new assets to support a visual theme as part of the Disney Live Entertainment Art & Graphic Design department. You will work on several projects including special events, convention product, seasonal overlays, venue decor and live show entertainment both on and off-property.  

This is a Casual Temporary or Seasonal role with no guarantee of weekly working hours as hours will fluctuate based on business need. You will report to the Art Specialist Team Leader  

What You Will Do 
  • Lead and provide constructive and applicable feedback to Art Crew and Art Crew Leads  
  • Develop graphic and design elements for seasonal events and overlays through determination of requirements, coordination, planning and partner with appropriate teams  
  • Develop creative renderings, facilitate ground plans and secure appropriate level of approvals  
  • Develop and track budget actuals and follow up regarding variances for production teams  
  • Support and use processes, including Inventory Data Base for each event and overlay  
  • Input system updates to ensure production teams have relevant information before prep/execution phases  
  • Request/secure all assets required to ensure event success including stock assets, rentals, purchases and fabricated elements.  
  • Be responsible for detailed coordination with vendors or other clients/partners to arrange delivery/pick up or install of assets.  
  • Supervise and review event status, communicate with appropriate partners, warehouse, purchasing and fabrication teams to ensure event is prepped as planned/expected  
  • Oversee communication of changes and be available to project/event teams before, during and following execution of event(s)  
  • Oversee planning for event(s) with GFM, including event requirements, parameters, load/strike logistics, walk-throughs and special instructions ensuring success of event  
  • Provide creative oversight during load-in and for ensuring event is accomplished as planned  
  • Update Purchase Card (P-card) logs and support Company P-Card Process  
  • Close out event ensuring rentals are returned and vendor invoices have been submitted for payment 
  • Support Department and Company programs and procedures
Required Qualifications & Skills  
  • Experience balancing multiple projects at once with an emphasis on logistics and coordination  
  • Theme park or equivalent entertainment experience  
  • Experience working in a team environment and promote collaboration  
  • Experience giving direction and leading a crew while maintaining a safe and productive workplace  
  • Experience running budgets  
  • Solid understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)  
  • Proven creative problem solving abilities, and continuous improvement process skills  
  • Experience crafting and following agendas, facilitate meetings, address action items, take direction, meet deadlines and complete tasks  
  • Have flexibility to work nights, holidays and weekends, including flexibility for overtime hours  
  • Support Department and Company programs and procedures 
  • Report violations to appropriate management to resolve issues es of the role.  
Preferred Qualifications  
  • Desired proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, CADTools or Vectorworks  
  • Ability to understand technical information including ability to read basic technical drawings  
Education  
  • High school degree or equivalent  
Preferred Education 
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent or 5+ years related industry experience.  
The hiring range for this position in California is $25.00-$30.75 hourly.
