Job Description
The Nightside EP will oversee and execute news content for timely and compelling newscasts and digital content, collaborate with news leadership on big picture plans and strategy with an innovative approach to grow viewership, and supervise the gathering and producing of news content including the rundown and approval of scripts. You will also work with reporters and photojournalists on assigned content, coach and mentor teams to excel and evolve newscasts using contemporary graphics and production techniques in a supervisory role to deliver creatively produced newscasts.
- Position requires excellent news judgment including an understanding of the importance of breaking news and severe weather coverage, writing and copy-editing skills, and an understanding of branding, maintaining and growing a brand with a high standard of quality and attention to detail in a deadline-driven environment.
- Proven leadership in the newsroom, effective communication skills, innovation, creativity and a desire to win are essential.
- The ideal candidate has a background and experience in producing local newscasts.
