Job Description
Responsibilities:
• Constructing of new costumes
• Altering of existing costumes
• Pattern corrections, pattern truing, pattern grading
• Washing and rolling fabrics
• Cutting
• Machine sewing- industrial and domestic, straight, zig, serger and blind hemmer
• Hand sewing and finishing
• Coordinating base and undergarments as needed
• Assisting in Fittings & Measurements
• Supervising of Stitchers as needed
• Pressing and steaming as needed
• Working with Interns and Students
Qualifications-
• Established work experience with Dance, Opera and Theater Costumes
• Knowledge of costume construction techniques
• Ability to follow instruction and work independently
• Ability to work in a team and maintain a professional demeanor at all times
