We have an exciting opportunity to join our team and be part of a storied brand as an Integrator/Developer. NBC Sports showcases some of the most prestigious sports properties in the world: The Olympics, NFL, NCAA Football & Basketball, NASCAR, PGA TOUR, USGA, Churchill Downs, Premier League, Tour de France, French Open, IndyCar and many more.
The role of the Graphics Integrator & Developer is to work directly with On Air Graphics and production teams to develop and integrate graphics and data into playback systems used for on-air broadcasts. While keeping design initiatives as a priority, this position will be instrumental in all aspects of graphics creation from concept & design to front and backend functionality. This role will also help to support studio and remote production and help troubleshoot hardware and software issues in conjunction with engineering.
Responsibilities:
The role of the Graphics Integrator & Developer is to work directly with On Air Graphics and production teams to develop and integrate graphics and data into playback systems used for on-air broadcasts. While keeping design initiatives as a priority, this position will be instrumental in all aspects of graphics creation from concept & design to front and backend functionality. This role will also help to support studio and remote production and help troubleshoot hardware and software issues in conjunction with engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Develop graphic functionality using an array of tools available within the Chyron PRIME Software including JavaScript, C#, VBScript and native PRIME logic.
- Work with data providers to consume data points and perceive their scope and usability within a live sports context
- Parse external data sources from a wide array of formats and origin points and integrate external data through multiple transmission methods.
- Build infrastructure to provide Production with tools to implement these data points into their broadcasts.
- Seek to understand and contribute to design and integration of new graphics and learn to help troubleshoot hardware and software issues in conjunction with engineering.
- Prepare and Maintain Excel Spreadsheets using formulas and code to populate graphics.
Requirements / Qualifications:
- Proficiency in JavaScript, VBScript & Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of Network protocols, data flow and Transport layer.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Must be flexible, detail-oriented, deadline driven and a good collaborator.
Desired Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of C#
- Experience with Chyron PRIME and Lyric software or other on-air graphic systems used in a broadcast environment.
- Basic understanding of Remote / Studio Control Room and Edit Suite practices.
- Working knowledge of Adobe suite (Photoshop, After Effects)
- Understanding of Lua Scripting and GLSL Scripting
- Design and Typography skills
