Job Description
The Garment Cutter Cast Member will cut materials using computer controlled machines and follow and contribute to costume documentation.
The starting pay rate for this role is $15.25 per hour.
Responsibilities:
- Cut material using a computer controlled machine, scissors or electric knife
- Keep areas and equipment are clean and in good repair
- Prepare fabric for cutting
- Understand of garment pattern/markers and yields
- Follow and contribute to costume documentation
- Bundle and mark all cut work and pattern pieces
- Identify issues with cut yields
- Discover pattern/marker concerns
- Press equipment experienced is required
- Prolonged standing during peak operational hours
- Work with items weighing 40lbs or more
- Operate a computerized system
- Flexible with work schedule, including overtime, weekends and holidays
- Additional Personal Protective Equipment (face shields, goggles, refillable hand sanitizers, etc.) may be required
- Cast members may be required to handle cleaning chemicals and supplies
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Experience with all types of synthetic and natural fibers and furs
- Perform minor maintenance on cutting equipment.
- Push, pull, lift and/or carry a minimum of 40 lbs., including overhead
- Climb ladders, stairs and work in various elevations
- Operate basic computer systems
- Experience with Excel and World
- Knowledge of cutting techniques and terminology
- Physical role requiring heavy lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and kneeling
- Willing to work at multiple heights
- Good communication skills
- Part Time roles require full availability for any shift, a MINIMUM of three (3) days per week, including nights and holidays
- Full Time roles require Full availability for any shift, seven (7) days per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays is preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two (2) years' experience in garment construction
