Overview

CNBC International are looking for a HR Coordinator to provide comprehensive, operational HR support to our London and UAE employees for a one-year fixed term contract.

You’ll be joining a collaborative and friendly team based in our London office and studio, where CNBC broadcasts live TV news programming on each business day. You will support the Senior HR Manager, International and work closely with the wider CNBC International HR team and our NBCUniversal colleagues to champion our people agenda and ensure a consistent approach across the business.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to build on their HR coordination experience, alongside exposure to a broad range of HR activities and the opportunity to work on HR projects and events. 

Responsibilities
Employee Life Cycle and HR Systems:
  • Responsibility for system data changes for employee life-cycle events, including recruitment, new hires, promotions, transfers, and leavers
  • Accurately maintain and update our employee database and any other HR systems
  • Manage the new starter and leaver onboarding/offboarding process, ensuring line managers are well supported and employees have a positive experience
  • Plan and deliver induction sessions and other HR related events
  • Organise, conduct, and maintain data on leavers and exit interviews
  • Understand basic requirements relating to employment law for contracts, contractors and right to work
  • Partner with our Global Immigration team to track and capture any visa and immigration related documentation, support internal and external relocations and remote working requests
  • Ensure probation periods are reviewed by line managers and any performance issues are addressed in a timely manner, escalating any concerns
  • Maintain and update organisation charts and provide administrative support to the HR function as required
  • Check and process HR-related invoices
  • Partner with the HR Connection team to support on external queries, such as background checks for previous employees and employee reference letters
Payroll, Benefits & Recruitment
  • Ensure any pay-impacting employment changes, new joiners and leavers are communicated to Payroll and Benefits colleagues according to monthly deadlines
  • Generate monthly payroll reports, ad hoc employee data reports and maintain EMEA open role reports
  • Collaborate with HR Connection and our Benefits team to assist, escalate and provide feedback regarding employee benefits questions or issues
  • Assist with recruitment and selection activities and creating talent pipelines for future hiring needs
  • Guide hiring managers through the selection process, champion our DEI Hiring Pledge
  • Partner with Early Careers on Internship recruitment, support junior talent development and be the main point of contact for our interns
Employee Services and Engagement
  • Provide outstanding first line support for day-to-day HR queries & requests from employees and managers, partnering with HR Connection
  • Act as the ‘go-to’ person for employees and managers, providing guidance and support on Company policies and procedures, including informal performance meetings, flexible working, maternity, paternity, shared parental leave etc.
  • Champion CNBC and NBCU employee engagement initiatives, be a proactive member of CNBC’s DEI Taskforce
  • Play a proactive, hands-on role in the delivery and organisation of employee engagement events across CNBC International
Qualifications
Skills, Experience and Requirements
  • Experience of administration in a fast-paced HR environment
  • Experience of managing payroll activities and following monthly payroll processes
  • Methodical and organised in your approach to work with high attention to detail and a professional, calm manner
  • Knowledge of SAP systems would be desirable
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and a pro-active, solutions orientated approach to work
  • Familiar with UK Employment Law with a good working knowledge of HR practices and procedures
  • A supportive and collaborative team member with strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent digital fluency skills including strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive information
  • Previous experience of process improvement in a HR environment would be highly advantageous
