Job Description

The graphics operator role at TBN executes live playout of still or motion graphics templates during live on-air and/or pre-recorded shows. Strong ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced daily TV environment while maintaining production standards and efficiency.

Equipment Used:

Includes, but not limited to, Ross XPression Studio, Ross XPression Tessera Master, Ross XPression Bluebox, Ross XPression Project Server

Responsibilities:
  • Work in a team environment with Directors and Producers to obtain graphical information and graphic cues for playout
  • Prepare graphics templates with correct information for playout
  • Quickly re-call and playout graphics templates for show
  • In charge of upkeep, maintenance and organization of Ross Xpression gear at the facility. Includes, but not limited to, Ross XPression Studio, Ross XPression Tessera Master, Ross XPression Bluebox, Ross XPression Project Server
  • Maintain and upkeep software versions of Xpression gear. Requires basic understanding of XPression License Tool and dongles
  • Work with graphic and motion designers to create or modify graphic templates inside of Xpression Studio
  • When applicable, help co-ordinate with other graphics operators for larger or more complex shows
  • Help train freelance or other graphic operators on Xpression templates and show playout methods
Basic Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Strong knowledge of Windows-based computer systems
  • Strong knowledge base of Ross XPression applications and workflows. Includes, but not limited to, Ross XPression Studio, Ross XPression Tessera Master, Ross XPression Bluebox, Ross XPression Project Server
  • Knowledge and understanding of video codecs, formats, and resolutions
  • Understanding of common production terminology relating to graphics operation
  • Understanding of production rundowns and studio show formats
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge and understanding of additional Ross XPression related gear. Includes, but not limited to, XPression MOS Gateway, XPression Offline Render Engine, XPression INcoder, XPression Tick-It, XPression Designer, XPression Touch Factory Designer, XPression Touch Factory Player, XPression Datalinq, XPression Remote Sequencer, Xpression License tool
  • Experience or understanding of MOS Graphical workflows
  • Base knowledge of relevant graphics applications such as Adobe After Effect and Adobe Photoshop
  • Ability to create and program XPression packages from scratch with elements obtained from designers. Includes, but is not limited to, visual logic, transition logic, visual basic script writing, MOS activation/de-activation, shaped and unshaped keying modes, XPression Datalinq integration into templates, keyframing and animations, Rosstalk commands
  • Previous experience with XPression Tessera in LED workflows
  • Previous experience with setup and programing of various Xpression Device communication over Rosstalk
  • Experience or understanding of XPression Tessera Region Mapping and Tessera Node Communication
  • Basic understanding of IP connection and IP Addresses between XPression Gear
  • Previous experience with XPression Datalinq and data wires
