Job Description
The Lifestyle show Videographer operates television or video cameras to record images or scenes for commercial and on-air content.
- Operates editing equipment to produce images for commercial and on air content.
- Operates live TVU equipment for on air content.
- Shoots video for commercial and on-air efforts, operates live TVU equipment.
- Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, filming sequences, desired effects and shot requirements.
- Sets up, composes and executes video shots
- Maintains video equipment
- Organizes and strings together raw footage into a continuous whole according to scripts or instructions
- Sets up and operates computer editing systems, and digital video effects to produce a final product
- Selects and combines the most effective shots to each scene to form a logical and smoothly running story
- Confers with other personnel to discuss assignment, work products and desired effects
- Maintains editing equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum two years’ experience in news operations (Depending on market size)
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
