Job Description

Responsibilities  :
  • Supervise the lighting team to deliver the expected and desired look of the series.
  • Ensure the guarantee and maintenance of the quality and desired appearance of the shots throughout the project.
  • Consult with the CG Supervisor on the technical feasibility of elements of the designs and suggest solutions suitable for production that will maintain the vision of the series.
  • In consultation with the director and CG supervisor, assign work to artists based on their skills and strengths.
  • Regularly review the work of each artist and approve shots to submit to the director.
  • Direct and guide overall shoot lighting on schedule and on budget, balancing artistic and productivity requirements, in tandem with production direction.
Qualities sought:
  • At least 8 years of production experience and strong working knowledge of various software platforms.
  • Previous experience in a leadership role on television or animation production.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the production field and in-depth knowledge of different software platforms.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a leadership role, on a fully facilitated or hybrid project.
  • Experience with production in Katana, Renderman and composition in Nuke.
  • Strong understanding of traditional lighting and composition techniques and principles.
  • Strong technical experience and ability to quickly learn new programs and systems.
  • High degree of self-direction and strong work ethic.
  • Knowledge of UNIX and shell scripts .
  • Ability to plan and execute complex 3D lighting scenes, including working with layers and passes, performing complex compositions, and optimizing scenes and renders.
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).
  • Strong artistic understanding of lighting and composition. A list of tasks performed for each shoot must be provided.
