Job Description

We are looking for a Line Producer to join the FOX Weather Strike Team. The Strike Team is FOX Weather's special projects team responsible for both developing new programming and providing support for existing shows. The line producer is a thought leader who can generate and execute compelling special projects along with the Senior Producer. You'll assist in the development of new programming, long-range specials, sales and marketing pitch tapes and occasionally field produce.  You must be a natural leader, a proven go-getter, and someone who can rise to the occasion under the sometimes stressful demands of covering critical weather news. You have excellent judgment and make smart decisions in real time. 

This position reports to the Executive Producer.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Pitch new show ideas for development with the Strike Team
  • Utilize show planning skills to assist the Senior Producer in bringing network pilots to life
  • Time the show in the control room and communicate effectively with on-air meteorologists, reporters and guests in the field, other team members, and the director to ensure the newscast runs as smoothly as possible
  • The ability to produce live, extended coverage of major weather events when they occur - sometimes on short notice
  • Experience with all aspects of TV production including video editing
  • Manage story placement, teases, graphics, writing, and all other production elements
  • Play a key part in short and long-term content planning
  • Help mentor and train new staff members
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Must have a passion for weather 
  • 5+ years of production experience, including 2-3 years of line producing and relevant control room experience
  • Ability to work under pressure, be decisive, detail-oriented, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills to work collaboratively with team members
  • Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience
Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $92,000.00-110,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY.
