Job Description

This position will work with various areas within the Department of Athletics to identify technical needs and develop unique plans specific to each event and/or area.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work with Facilities, Game Operations, and Fan Engagement staffs to discover AV needs and develop plans on an event-by-event basis
  • Deploy and operate several types of live event AV systems for various Athletics events
  • Manage the inventory of live event AV gear
  • Schedule maintenance, report broken items, and follow through on repairs of live event AV gear
  • Assist with design, deployment, and maintenance of several types of live event AV systems in Vanderbilt Athletics venues and offices
  • Help develop and integrate new standards into Vanderbilt live events
  • Have and maintain knowledge of Yamaha audio consoles, JBL speakers, professional lighting, as well as indoor and outdoor LED products
  • Strive to learn and pursue new skills in various software and hardware applications to keep Vanderbilt Athletics on the forefront of technology
  • Provide a customer service mindset through helping various staff/freelancers with technical issues
  • Attend various Athletics events to support the Video Operations team as needed
  • Have a thorough knowledge of live audio, video, and lighting standards and terms
  • Perform maintenance and system upgrades in coordination with Director of Engineering for any software and firmware updates
  • Assist in developing, deploying, and maintaining future Audio/Video/Lighting systems
  • Perform additional duties/tasks and assume additional responsibilities as needed or assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
  • Five years of experience in live event production
  • Strong computer skills across both PC and Mac platforms
  • Understanding of live event production operations is desired
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds
  • Ability to drive a truck and trailer
