Job Description

The ideal candidate has great experience in live production (sports, preferably, but live TV experience also considered). They will be able to build strong editorial storytelling in their running orders and can adapt with several spare plans when they face unexpected scenarios. In the PCR, the Live Producer will be precise while giving instructions and will be straight forward and concise when communicating with on air commentators.

You will be the owner of one live event per day, working closely with Broadcast Managers (editorial D-day reference), Scheduling Supervisor (commercial playlist owners) and especially with technician teams in PCRs/MFRs to deliver the best final product.

You will have great relationship building skills, connecting with pillar leaders and stakeholders, and also international markets to deliver content to satisfy the fans.

Role Accountabilities:
  • Live Producers are journalists in charge of our live events on D-day across all platforms
  • Handling PCR coordination to produce, leading technical crew (Discovery facilities or on site).
  • Preparing and building strong editorial storytelling to deliver best experience for the viewers.
  • Producing events from start to finish
  • Responsibility for studios show productions, interacting with commentators/presenters /talent to offer the best final product
  • Respecting obligations and commitments (commercial/programming/editorial)
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Practical live production experience, preferably within sport broadcast
  • Understanding of the sports television business, subscription television and sports streaming platforms
  • Experience taking the lead, and examples of showing initiative as required when managing a full broadcast production.
  • The ability to produce multi-camera live productions.
  • Experience managing production budgets
  • Experience managing and building relationships with stakeholders across the (international) business
  • Continually challenge the status quo, identify improved ways of working and efficiencies
  • Advanced knowledge working with tools such as Adobe Premier, Excel and SCS is key
  • Strong French and English language skills (verbal and written) are essential, another Euro language would be a bonus
