Job Description

The Event Production Manager is responsible for the successful advancement and completion of the assigned events across the Sphere Site. The Event Production Manager position will encompass managing the operational execution of a wide range of events such as concerts, special entertainment events, family shows and sporting events.  This person will act as the liaison between the production and all venue departments, partners, and stakeholders to maximize operational efficiency through collaboration and communication. The Stage Manager will be responsible for generating and maintaining operational budgets and event info sheets for the assigned events.  The Stage Manager will work with Union & Non-Union labor workforce.  The position exists within an environment that is a (24) hour / (7) days a week operation due to the numerous daily and nightly events across live entertainment. The ability to successfully multi-task and collaborate in an energetic and time-sensitive environment is of the utmost importance.

What will you do?
  • Production Manager will be responsible for administering all event planning with the client and venue stakeholders throughout the entire event process for assigned events, from advancement to being on-site for load-in through load out.
  • Maintains and manages event calendar.
  • Assists in overseeing technical run-throughs.
  • Instructs lighting and technical support team on the timing and execution of aesthetic or special effects.
  • Oversees the organization and design of the stage prior to performances.
  • Oversight in setting up props and other items for a production.
  • Addresses and resolves any technical difficulties during rehearsals and performances.
  • Ensures that all cast and crew are prepared for a performance.
  • Responsible for the oversight of the daily operations for the  Atrium and Robot activation.
  • Communicate any schedule changes to vendor to ensure staffing and following up on any schedule issues.
  • Coordinating robot staffing for any VIP tours or PR events with 3rd party vendor.
  • Point of contact between Sphere production and Vendor on operational issues. I.E parking, onboarding, HR issues.
  • Ensuring Robots activation has all the supplies that are needed for successful operations. (Radios, uniforms, name tags, water, breakroom supplies. Etc.)
  • Follow up on any technical/ operational issues that may arise during the activation.
  • Onboarding new staffing to the venue: I.e., Badges, parking, visitor lists etc.
  • Reconciling invoices from 3rd party vendor for daily operational costs.
  • Work with Guest Services and 3rd Party vendor for ideal guest flow for Robot safety and guest experience. 
  • Provides stage directions and cues during rehearsals and performances as necessary.
  • Maintains log of daily rehearsal activity, script changes, and official performances.
  • Reports logistical problems to management.
  • Responsible for administering all event planning with the client and venue departments including, but not limited to, staging, lighting and sound, seating, and staffing requirements.
  • Generate and maintain budgets with timely updates throughout the event process through constant analysis and attention to detail.
  • Track costs against budget for settlement with internal and external clients.
  • Produce AutoCAD drawings to illustrate seating maps to be used for the purpose of on sales across the event spectrum. These drawings build the foundation for the event and will be shared with various stakeholders across the MSG enterprises, including but not limited to Box Office, Finance, Building Operations & Booking and for event permitting purposes with Clark County.
  • Work with outside agencies to ensure work rules, jurisdictions, codes, and policies are maintained.
  • Understand and communicate with all parties the work rules for Union & Non-Union labor teams.
  • Schedule and direct union and non-union labor associated with the daily operation of event.
  • Troubleshoot event day issues and be highly responsive to emergencies in a fast paced, time sensitive environment.
  • Oversee transition from day of event activities to the load out of all equipment for assigned events.
  • Evaluate quality of client and guest experience through observation and responding to feedback.
What do you need to succeed?
  • 5-7 years working experience in live event production management with direct responsibility for supervising and directing staffs across a wide range of operating functions in a changing environment.
  • Technical knowledge surrounding production specific items involving but not limited to rigging and engineering review, power provisions, industry standard safety protocols, Union regulations and processes specific to I.A.T.S.E.
  • Knowledge and understanding of general building codes & fire safety specific to Sphere and Clark County.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks with both financial and operational implications across departments and venues in a deadline-oriented environment.
  • Experience supervising and working with Union & Non-Union Crews
  • Experience creating and maintaining event budgets and preparing financial information for event settlements.
  • Strong organizational skills, time management skills, and exceptional attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently when necessary and use sound business judgement.

  • Proficient in AutoCAD drafting including onsale production drawings and basic room layouts (2D required, 3D a plus)
Special Requirements
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule inclusive of weekends, nights and holidays required. May have split days off.
  • Must be willing to travel to other locations as required.
  • Must be flexible and adaptive to an ever-changing security environment in order to meet company needs.
Pay Range: $83,000—$130,000 USD
