Job Description

The NBCU Live Events team produces live events and specials across NBC, Peacock, and NBCUniversal’s Cable Portfolio. The team is tasked with creative development and content strategy for television, streaming, and social media platforms. Our team oversees the production of live content across NBCU and works within the ever-changing landscape of digital media/consumption, to bring live events content and social strategy to consumers.

We are looking for a manager to join our Live Events team to help us develop pop culturally relevant live events across all platforms and manage the slate of current programming (including The People’s Choice Awards, Live From E! red carpet franchise (Academy Awards, the Grammys, the Met Gala, Emmy Awards, SAG Awards) New Year's Eve, and others). This role will report to the VP, Live Events and work with the broader Live Events & Specials team.

Job Duties: 
  • Interface with internal teams and external agencies to obtain and manage social/ digital assets throughout the year.
  • Lead weekly meetings with cross-functional teams (Sales, Marketing, Production Management, PR, etc.) to ensure alignment and share creative vision. 
  • Review/edit scripts to uphold and maintain Live Event’s celebratory and elevated creative voice.
  • Collaborate and support production teams on-site. 
  • Troubleshoot production, budgetary, creative, and talent issues.
  • Ideate and draft creative ideas that align with the show direction including segment ideas, talent pitches, and sponsorable elements. 
  • Create clear and concise materials (e.g., e-mails, decks, 1-pagers) to share with internal cross-functional teams, talent reps, and production companies. 
  • Research and share knowledge of current events and trends in the pop culture zeitgeist as they relate to organizational objectives for the team. 
  • Be the go-to source for lead-up materials (e.g., scripts, packages, rundowns), S&P concerns, and post-show recaps, including proactively collecting content links, competitive outlet research, screen recordings, etc.
  • Collaborate with Creative Partnerships and Ad Sales to develop organically creative advertiser integrations and build repeatable social/streaming content franchises.
  • Ensure all necessary assets are reviewed, approved, and delivered on time - to all cross-functional partners (internal, external, and agency partners).
  • Manage all tasks on key projects so they move smoothly and efficiently, and all tasks are properly assigned.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of professional experience working in dynamic multimedia environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong interpersonal Skills.
  • Ability to successfully multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and holidays.
Desired Characteristics:
  • Deep knowledge of and interest in entertainment (music, movies, TV, social media), celebrity, and pop culture. 
  • Ability to advise on what’s currently pop-culturally relevant, social trends, and trending talent. 
  • Experience in social media editorial content, development, and creation including drafting, editing, and approving social copy and assets. 
  • Exceptional written communication skills.

Additional Requirements:
  • Must be willing to travel, attend events, and work weekends as required.
  • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as a hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.
Salary range: $80,000 - $110,000
