Job Description

We'll make sure you are involved in all phases -including script/budgeting, pre-production, production and post production. Additionally, this position will coordinate all financial obligations related to each series - including crafting/managing music budgets, ensuring payments are completed on time and preparing/balancing financial reports in coordination with Finance. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to:
  • Works with Music Creatives, Clearance, Legal and BA to align the music department’s interactions with each show - offering input in deal making
  • Engages Music/Vocal Contractors, Orchestrators/Arrangers, Conductors, Music Preparation personnel, Consultants, Pro Tools Operators, Engineers, Mixers and other Music Production personnel and negotiates rates
  • Oversees pre-production rehearsals and pre-recording sessions
  • Organizes post recording and scoring sessions
  • Responsible for attending recording and scoring sessions, when necessary
  • Interacts with the Labor Relations department regarding IATSE and other union and guild requirements
  • Assists in interpreting AFM and SAG labor agreements for music department personnel and communicates with key music hires/their representatives
  • Coordinates the processing, coding and SAP/Fiori Approval of all music production invoices for payment
  • Prepares musician, orchestrator, and copyist and Engineer/Mixer payroll reports for payment by checking salary computations, accounting coding, and all other relevant information
  • Ensures that all singers are cleared through the Screen Actors Guild before employment
  • During the Covid-19 Pandemic, is responsible for working with Labor and Safety teams on the required Covid-19 Shortform documentation, and for planning the safe execution of work per the RTW Agreement and additional ViacomCBS Safety Standards
Basic qualifications:
  • Minimum 4-6 years previous experience in the Music, Production and/or Television or Motion Picture industry
  • Bachelor's degree in Music, Communications or Business
Desired Skills:
  • Knowledge of collective bargaining agreements
  • Knowledge of the entertainment industry and key people in the Music, Motion Picture and Television business
  • Knowledge MAC/PC computers
  • Good organizational skills and problem-solving skills
  • Good oral and written communication skills are necessary in order to interface effectively with Company management, Company personnel, Filmmakers, Show personnel, Networks, vendors and other collaborators
