Job Description

Lead the development and management of comprehensive marketing plans including integrated initiatives designed to penetrate and grow the Meetings & Events, Youth/Group, and College sales markets. Communicate with clients, management, internal departments, and strategic partners to manage marketing efforts in accordance with business goals. This role is expected to be the Brand Manager of the Meetings & Events, Youth/Group, and College areas of business for Universal Studios Hollywood. They should be a marketing generalist who can collaborate with others to develop and execute marketing plans and campaigns. Individual must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate interdepartmental teams and influence internal/external clients. - Client Portfolio to include: 

Meeting & Event clients (Corporate & Association), Youth & Group clients, Convention/Tradeshow, College market.

Responsibilities:

PLANNING & ALIGNMENT                                                                           
  • Leads and owns the development of brand strategies and focused communications that convey our Meetings & Events and Youth/Group brand value propositions.
  • Work closely with internal Sales partners and senior leaders to understand their audiences, annual business goals, priorities, and key annual initiatives.
  • Align with business leaders on Convention/Tradeshow initiatives and build marketing plans focused on Tradeshow audiences.
  • Builds annual Marketing plans/roadmaps and communication plans in order to implement communication efforts through paid media, earned media, website, CRM, and social channels.
  • Collaborates regularly with internal Marketing teams and Communication channels such as CRM, Social, Media, PR, and more.
  • Collaborates with internal teams at Universal Studios Hollywood and other destinations around the globe to share best practices and efficiencies.
  • Responsible for presenting plans, campaign efforts and results to leadership and internal partners.
  • Consistently reports to and communicates with the Assistant Director of the North America Trade Marketing team to ensure alignment at all times.
MANAGEMENT OF TOP CLIENTS
  • Lead day-to-day communication with internal Sales partners, leaders and external clients. Schedule and oversee on-going meetings to ensure alignment with the Sales teams.  The Manager is to focus heavily on top clients that are driving solid business results while planning, prioritizing, and developing efficient marketing tools to support the Sales teams and clients. Ensure that marketing tactics being used and/or developed by external clients aligns with Universal’s Brand strategy, standards, and approval parameters.
  • As the Sales main point of contact of the Trade Marketing team, this individual manages internal relationships with partners, including, but not limited to:  Sales, Brand Marketing, Creative, Communication channels, Entertainment, Event Production, Legal, Licensed Partners, etc.
  • Possess strong judgment and organizational skills to balance multiple projects with staggered delivery dates, as well as prioritize account needs for efficient tactic delivery and manage internal stakeholder expectations. 
CONTENT & CREATIVE STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT
  • Translate business strategy/goals into content & creative strategy/goals.
  • Understand the importance of briefing and how to inspire great work on all projects. Writes projects and creative briefs that ladder up to overall campaign or program briefs.
  • Express enthusiasm and passion for ideas, share examples that serve as inspiration to the creative team and other partners. Briefs creative team on projects they led.
  • Collaborate in the presentation of ideas to partners and leadership.
  • Implement the content that’s been created with internal communication channels, sales teams, and external sales clients.
  • Understand what drives the impact of strategy and help gather the evidence/results.
  • Works hand-in-hand with the Project Management team to define scope of work and budget for campaigns and tactics.
  • Finds tactical efficiencies between Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort, when and where it makes sense.
SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTISE
  • Develop a strong working knowledge of Universal Destination & Experiences Brand Standards, Legal, and License guidelines.
  • Knowledge of industry insights and competitive landscape.
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established USH policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bring together all facets of a marketing campaign by developing and communicating sound plans with cross-divisional support.
  • Meticulous with a keen eye and strong aptitude for detail and organization
  • Manage projects with a forward-thinking approach and possesses the ability to foresee potential risks or challenges while proactively problem solving to ensure timely delivery of plans and/or initiatives.
  • Drive successful implementation of projects in alignment with internal and external partners while showing strong business results.
  • Ability to control, monitor and allocate proper financial weight to each project while maintaining the budget within specified parameters.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects, priorities and deadlines with ease and grace within this fast-paced environment
  • Conscientious, enthusiastic and tactful personality with a positive, friendly, flexible and team-oriented attitude necessary within client communication and also to instill ownership in our partners for each project.
  • Bachelor’s degree:  Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, and/or business administration.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in marketing communications.  Previous marketing and sales experience within the travel/tourism industry is a plus.
  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

  • Working knowledge of Salesforce.com is a plus, but not required.
  • Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents.
Salary range: $75,000 - $100,000 (bonus eligible)
