Job Description

Hearst Bay Area, Northern California’s largest news media and services group, is actively seeking a detail-oriented and data-driven Marketing Events Coordinator to join the marketing team. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced event professional to join one of San Francisco’s most iconic and recognizable brands. The Marketing Event Coordinator will plan, coordinate, and execute various marketing, B2B, and Newsroom events.  They will work closely with the marketing team, sales leadership, and newsroom liaisons to create engaging and effective event strategies that align with Hearst Bay Area’s overall goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing events, including signature programs, conferences, trade shows, and other promotional events
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create event strategies and marketing campaigns that align with the company's goals and objectives
• Manage all aspects of event planning, including budgeting, scheduling, venue selection, vendor management, logistics, and run-of-show
• Collaborate with the marketing team on the develop event marketing & sales materials, such as cross-channel campaign creative, presentation decks, invitations, print & digital signage, and promotional products
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure smooth event operations
• Track event performance metrics and provide reports to the marketing team on event success and ROI
• Maintain a strong understanding of the Hearst Bay Area’s products, services, and target market to create effective event strategies
• Manage event-related social media campaigns and other digital marketing initiatives
• Work with Account Executive teams to identify potential event opportunities and support lead-generation efforts

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, business administration, or related field preferred
• 4-6 years of experience in event planning and coordination, preferably in a marketing or promotional capacity
• Successful track record of driving attendance for in-person and virtual events and proving ROI through event marketing strategies and tactics
• Experience working with event speakers, sponsors, and vendors using strong communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Knowledge of event planning best practices and trends
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, and Teams.
• Preferred experience in project management software such as Wrike, Asana, Airtable, and virtual webinar platforms such as Zoom, GoTo Meeting, and Teams  
• Experience with social media marketing and other digital marketing tactics
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed for event planning and execution.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in event planning, marketing, and project management, with a passion for creating engaging and memorable experiences.
