Job Description

I. Job Summary | Major goals and objectives.

The Motion Graphics Designer conceptualizes, designs and produces animations, full screens, opens and bumpers, Chyron templates and graphics for promo spots for stations across the broadcast group.

II. Essential Job Functions

Accountabilities, Actions and Expected Measurable Results

30%- Finish TV promo spots with graphics and animations as needed

30%- Produce special news graphics packages for TV stations across broadcast group

20%- Develop new station graphics packages

15%- Design and maintain Chyron templates as needed

5%- Organize and maintain graphics and animation files and directories

III. Minimum Qualifications and Job Requirements | All must be met to be considered.
Education:

High School Diploma required.  College degree, experience in a comparable field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is highly preferred. 

Experience:

3+ years of experience in broadcast/cable TV motion design, graphic design and/or art direction.  Online demo reel is required for consideration.

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Proficient knowledge and experience in After Effects/Photoshop/Illustrator/Premiere/Cinema 4D.
  • Experience designing graphics for promotional TV spots, news infographics, as well as digital content.
  • Experience and understanding of technical television news production related to on-air playback and file formats.
  • A clear command of fundamentals of design such as composition, color, and typography.
  • Ability to multi-task several projects and manage time effectively.
  • Must be able to work remotely, covering stations in multiple time zones.
Candidate must be able to manage quick turnaround of broadcast design assets and manage their time effectively.  The successful candidate is able to work independently on projects and also collaborate remotely with a team of fellow designers and promo producers.
