Job Description

Cumulus Media is now hiring an experienced Music & Brand Content Manager (Station Program Director) in the Southeast for a dynamic Country Music station. The Country Music & Brand Content Manager will lead all aspects of the country music products and stations from the on-air experience, operations, talent, content, and online presence.

Music and lifestyle are at the center of our brands and curating more than a great playlist but an on-going experience is what drives us. Top candidates will be versatile, cultural experts who blend creativity with strategy to build, engage and grow our audiences. Responsibilities span programming all aspects of the station from on-air music scheduling and talent coaching, development and management to client-driven partnership ideation and building out a robust digital strategy.

What’s Needed:
  • Operational knowledge of FCC broadcast rules and regulations; knowledge of federal, state and local contesting rules and regulations
  • Demonstrated ability to use tools to gather and analyze listening and/or usage data, make business decisions based on analysis;
  • Extensive knowledge of Nielsen data analysis;
  • Excellent Talent coaching and developing skills
  • Strong familiarity with radio programming
  • Excellent team leadership and delegation skills, including motivation of staff; can set goals & expectations, provide honest feedback and manage performance
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • High degree of planning and organizing skills; can multi-task and meet specific deadlines
  • Flexible, creative, and innovative in using technology to deepen listener relationships
  • Ability to think both tactically and strategically
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others
  • Superior oral and written communication skills; excellent grammar; can adjust communications style based on audience needs
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience:
  • 5 years of experience in Broadcasting or DSP Audio (Music) Curation is required
  • 1-3 years of supervisory experience is required
  • Extensive knowledge of the function and department processes.
