WKYC in Cleveland is seeking an experienced, energetic News Producer to join our newsroom.

Responsibilities:
• Encourage innovation and risk-taking in crafting great newscasts through evoking emotion and showcasing
• Write and edit news stories for on-air broadcasting and digital platform
• Develop content through social listening and independent sources
• Be a top-notch communicator
• Work collaboratively with other producers and staff members
• Skillfully use social media and digital tools to research, discover and distribute content
• Write in an exciting, captivating and authentic manner
• Write and post on all digital platforms including social media
• Research for facts and credibility
• Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories
• Be able to handle assignment desk duties including phone news gathering, crew coordination and other duties as assigned
• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor or executive producer
Requirements:
• BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field
• 3-5 years of experience preferred
• Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
• Understanding the tenets of professional journalism
• Skills in producing engaging, content-driven newscasts and digital content
• Strong social media skills, including an active news hound presence on Twitter and Facebook
• Knowledge of ENPS, Edius and Axis graphics a plus
• Organizational skills and the ability to work under constant time pressure deadlines
• Ability to calmly handle live, breaking news situations and changing events
