Job Description
The ideal candidate will have experience working in the entertainment space and be a master in all things pop culture. The Overnight Writer, E! Online, will be responsible for writing and self-publishing news stories in a fast-paced, deadline-driven newsroom throughout the evening shift. The overnight shift (5PM-1AM PT) offers a unique opportunity to spearhead E!’s coverage throughout the night and kickstart the following day on a strong note.
Responsibilities:

- In this role, you will identify, write and publish 5+ pieces of daily content including:
- News stories
- Viral or otherwise socially generated stories, photos and videos
- Photo galleries
- Identify viral and emerging stories/trends and pitch to the assignment editor
- Craft clever angles, headlines and second beats to trending stories
- Publish content to Facebook and other social platforms
Qualifications/Requirements
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• 5+ years’ experience in a deadline writing environment, ideally in entertainment news
• Proficient SEO and social media with a clear understanding of how the two influence one another
• Excellent writing skills that align with the unique, conversational E! voice
• This is not a 9-5 job. Candidates need to be flexible and willing to work weekends and evenings at times depending on the news cycle
