Job Description

KVUE-TV, a TEGNA owned company and ABC affiliate, is looking for a Photographer.

Responsibilities:
  • Shoot and edit daily news stories, long-form, feature, and investigative projects that are character-driven using the latest editing and photography tools, including Premiere and After Effects
  • Advanced lighting skills for broadcast interviews
  • Perform post-production work using color grading preferred
  • Shooting and editing content for all platforms
  • Experience with DSLR cameras and lenses
  • Use creative production techniques such as graphics and new forms of media (viewer pictures, webcam interviews, etc.) to enhance stories.
  • Attend editorial meetings, participate in discussions, and suggest story ideas
Job Requirements:
  • BA/BS in journalism, communications, or a related field
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience as a broadcast news photographer/editor preferred
  • Clear understanding of the principles of journalism
  • Advanced experience with Edius, Adobe Premiere, and some experience Adobe After Effects
  • Experience incorporating data and graphics to help tell complicated, visually challenging stories
  • Demonstrate social media proficiency, including active news gathering on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
  • Active memberships to NPPA and/or IRE are preferred, but not required
  • Must be flexible with schedule, reliable and dependable
  • Must be a positive, collaborative team member with a commitment to excellence.
  • Work Environment Set: 50% in-office/50% in-the-field
  • Physical Demands Set: Employee must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of gear, out in the field, in all kinds of weather and conditions.
