Job Description
Salem Web Network, a subsidiary of Salem Media Group, is looking for a mission-driven Podcast Growth Specialist to help grow our LifeAudio and Parthenon podcast brands across social media channels by helping curate, coordinate, and market relevant and engaging podcast content. This full-time position is open to remote applicants in the U.S. This is an exciting gateway opportunity for a professional in mass communications, broadcasting, multimedia, or journalism

AUDIO EDITING & COORDINATION:
- Coordinating audio files with audio producers, podcast hosts, and LifeAudio team members
- Editing audio files using applications (Garage Band, Adobe Audition or similar)
- Work across teams and independently to brainstorm & develop unique ideas to target our audience & fulfill business initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders in the coordination of timelines and goals.
- Managing “feed drops” by releasing show previews and episodes in other programming to promote podcast growth across the podcast network and social media. Includes spot checking shows for quality
- Showing migration and tech support for new shows joining our network
- Demonstrating technical knowledge with various hosting platforms and working with hosts as issues arise
- Stay on top of relevant trends social media technology & hone your skills to drive better production practices and help Salem maintain brand relevance across platforms.
MARKETING:
- Managing weekly scheduling and distribution of podcast shows
- Creating show notes, descriptions, and titles
- Assisting with newsletter creation using in house software
- Identifying segments to recommend to marketing for promotion
- Contribute to social media brand growth strategy, providing insight into content performance, SEO optimization, trends, etc.
DATA ANALYSIS:
- Creating reports analyzing podcast downloads, plays, engagement and other metrics as appropriate
- Reviewing Apple Podcasts Connect & Spotify dashboards and being able to understand which episodes are performing best and why
Qualifications:
- 3 + years of relevant experience. Hands-on internship and/or recent podcast production experience highly preferred.
- Examples of high-quality, professional links to work or reels.
- Demonstrated skill in highly creative and engaging multimedia storytelling.
- Hands-on experience with small format mixers, compression, EQ, effects processors, audio recording techniques for studio and field, multi-track and waveform editing. (Garage Band, Adobe Audition and similar audio editing applications)
- Knowledge of all platform management across all major social media (FB and Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, Twitter, etc) and SEO optimization.
- General understanding of social media best practices, tools, and trends.
- Demonstrate strong project management skills with a commitment to meeting deadlines & managing competing priorities.
- Experience producing content in the faith-based space and/or a desire to produce and edit video content for Salem’s faith-based audiences.
- Proven history of sound editorial and journalistic judgment.
- Superb organizational skills, attention to detail & problem-solving ability.
- Proactive, results-oriented, and highly collaborative working style.
Compensation: $35,000-40,000 yearly
