Job Description
NBC News Channel provides news content and editorial support to all NBC affiliate stations, The NBC News Group, and several Foreign Clients.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Write, edit, and assist in producing ready-to-air, reporter tracked packages on day-of news topic/breaking news
- Gather various elements for packages including video, soundbites, graphics, etc.
- Write and edit additional content (including packages and cut items)
- Collaborate with Correspondents and Package Producers across News Channel (including DC Bureau, CLT & Los Angeles)
- Respond quickly to breaking news
- Willing to work weekends, nights, holidays, and various schedules
- Available to be on-call for breaking news
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Three or more years of experience as a local or network news producer/editor
- Strong editorial news judgment and communication skills
- Strong news editing skills
- Avid Media Composer and/or Avid Media Central experience
- Ability to multitask in fast pace environment and prioritize assignments
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly organized in fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work independently and as a member of the team
- Must be able to work remotely (not all states are possible so please have your home state on your resume).
This position has been designated as fully remote, meaning that the position is expected to contribute from a non-NBCUniversal worksite, most commonly an employee’s residence.
Salary range: $110,000-125,000
