Job Description
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
- Develops and organizes newscasts or local programs; responsible for writing, story development and showcasing.
- Collaborates with reporters, anchors, news managers and assignment editors to determine content needs.
- Enhances the content with graphics, video, research, and station branding.
- Executes time sensitive decisions.
- Responsible for oversight of live broadcast and up to the minute editorial decisions.
- Performs desktop editing.
- Posts content to station's Web sites.
- Attend Sales Client Meetings with Account Executives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
- Bachelor's degree in Journalism or related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a television writer or producer.
- Experience with lifestyle/sales related program production a plus.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Excellent conversational, creative writing, organizational and attention to detail skills.
- Adaptive, self motivated and able to work in fast paced, deadline driven environment.
- Strong vision and ability to advance stories.
- Excellent interpersonal communicator.
- Extraordinarily passionate about writing; courageous and creative storyteller with attention to even tiny details - choosing the perfect words, grammar, spelling.
- Highly organized.

- Strong self-motivation.
- Working knowledge of journalistic ethics and libel laws and strong editorial judgement.
- Must be proficient with final cut and or adobe premiere editing, systems, MS Office, MS Word.
