Job Description
We are looking for a Production Assistant to join the MSNBC Marketing team. This role is responsible for supporting creative development and production.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Aid in the production and post-production of advertising, promotion and marketing materials for MSNBC
- Support the producers and editors in the creative process
- Participate with Brand, Media, Research and Production teams to facilitate campaign development and ensure successful delivery
- Contribute in department strategy/creative meetings to help develop ideal solutions
- Research, screen and log broadcast material and shoot footage
- Assist in the analysis of campaign performance
- Organize, maintain, and update electronic files (i.e. department audio schedule, promo archive information, shoot logs, etc)
- Assist in managing media cards and hard drives containing shoot footage after production
- This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of 3 days per week
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, broadcasting or marketing preferred
- Minimum 1 year of experience working in a marketing and/or production environment
- Minimum 2 years experience working with Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule in a 24/7 news environment in addition to standard hours (9:00am-7:00pm)
- Willingness to work overtime with short notice

Desired Characteristics:
- Experience with new media and digital media platforms
- Thorough understanding of the current broadcast and digital media landscape
- Experience with iNews and Media Central a plus
- Proven ability to manage in a deadline-oriented environment and to multi-task
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a collaborative team
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of current political landscape and key politicians a plus
Salary range: $20-$25/hour
