Job Description

What will you be doing?
  • Coordinating all operational, administrative and logistical aspects of the studio and location production
  • Support the Production Manager, Producers, Directors and Presenting team
  • Be a brand ambassador for Milkshake! on and off air, and across multiple platforms building audience interaction, views and engagement
  • Provide production support to the editorial team to plan and execute themes and initiatives for on-air and social production
  • Production documentation including call sheets, risk assessments, access requests and studio bookings
  • Prepare continuity requirements choosing editorial content to ensure continuity is entertaining
  • Manage the Milkshake! inbox
  • Complete music cue sheets and report continuity music accurately in databases with Production Assistant
  • Coordinate budget requirements for continuity, marketing and live events with the Channel Manager and Production Manager, reporting costs back to VP Kids
  • Raise POs using inhouse system
  • Book freelance studio personnel and administer child licences/contracts
  • Order office, studio & merchandise supplies, book travel and accommodation
  • Oversee the set up and set down of all studio, gallery and make up room supplies and props with the Production Assistant in studio and gallery/garden, operating on air graphics, vision mixing, and soundbites for costume characters
  • Help with the storage on/off site and the upkeep of set/costume/props for studio/garden
  • Create all studio competitions liaising with marketing and consumer products teams to acquire prizes
  • Create website copy for competition entry and VO requirements for on air with Creative & Digital Producer and Digital Manager.
  • Administer competition entries, selecting winners, writing response letters and posting prizes
  • Oversee product tagging, selecting products including DVD’s, Book and Magazines to promote in the programme end slate space and scheduling, scripting, VO directing with the Programme Manager, C5 Scheduling and Navigation Team
  • File assets for edit and delivery for the on air pre records
  • Ensure all content meets Ofcom regulations, music clearance and reporting requirements
  • Ensure health and safety during filming including COVID protocols
  • Generate ideas to expand the brand and commercial opportunities, working with commercial, consumer products and events teams
  • Deputise for the Production Manager, including scheduling media planning promotional priorities and content, bumpers and idents, producing the studio production rota
What are we looking for?
  • Experience in TV studio/gallery production preferably for a preschool audience
  • Excellent understanding of administrative and operational production requirements
  • Good script writing skills
  • Experience creating running orders, makelists and production paperwork
  • Ability to manage talent, crew and children and build relationships
  • Supervise junior members of a production team and motivate them
  • Good communication skills and evidence of responding directly to viewers
  • Evidence of being highly organised, adaptable, proactive and supportive
  • Passionate, articulate, creative and ability to translate ideas into plans
  • Genuine interest in the UK kids programme market
  • Understanding GDPR and Ofcom broadcast regulations and working with children guidelines
  • Realise the importance of rights/copyright/clearance issues
  • Experience of budget and contract management
  • Working knowledge of broadcasting research
  • Good I.T. Skills
  • Creative and artistic skills for creating props & crafts
