Summary

We are searching for a Production Equipment and Props Associate to oversee and maintain our film equipment and multiple props at our studio based in Burbank, Ca. This individual will be key in supporting our various production crews ensuring the film gear and props needed on a daily basis are readily available, and all are in working condition.

Job Description

The ideal person is extremely detailed, possesses creative on the spot problem solving skills, and has a strong eye for organization. This individual will not only manage the check in and check out of all equipment and props, but they will also be expected to create clear inventory systems, report any discrepancies in inventory counts, and create departmental policies to minimize and prevent theft, loss, or damage to items. 

Additional responsibilities include performing troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs on equipment, creating props as needed on-set, and ensuring all inventory logs are accurate and up to date. Ultimately, the ideal candidate is extremely organized and tidy, has impeccable communication skills, and understands the value and proper care techniques for each piece of equipment. This is a critical position that requires someone who is trustworthy, a proactive thinker, and is able to exercise good judgment. HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
  • Logging all requests from team members pertaining to equipment and prop check out in an organized and efficient way 
  • Verifying inventory accuracy and tracking items daily for expected check in and check outs 
  • Preparing and organizing equipment and props daily for multiple production crews, ensuring items aren't double booked and are readily available in a timely manner
  • Supervising the day-to-day operation of the equipment room (check-in/out), maintaining all production equipment (cameras, lights, sound, tripods, microphones, etc.)
  • Ensuring that returned equipment is complete and in working order, including required follow-up with team members as needed 
  • Ensuring all props are returned after each shoot and are accounted for on the inventory logs
  • Completing quality checks for maintenance of all gear and supplies housed within the equipment room and props storage area 
  • Updating inventory count and maintaining accurate records 
  • Creating inventory logs while maintaining meticulous organization using appropriate platforms such as (Skype, Monday.com, Google Drive) 
  • Ensuring the storage and workplace for all props is tidy and neat 
  • Performing necessary repairs and or making recommendations on where to send equipment out for repair
  • Implementing annual inventory and quarterly cycle counts
  • Assisting in preparation for upcoming shoots by creating props as needed 
  • Working with our Security team to implement loss prevention protocols to prevent theft
  • Maintaining clear communication with all necessary departments and team members 
WHAT YOU HAVE:
  • A minimum of 3 years working within the film industry or a rental house 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of multiple film equipment such as cameras, lights, sound gear, tripods, microphones, etc. and experience with repairing damaged items 
  • Proficient with Excel, Google Sheets, and Docs; Monday.com and Skype experience a plus 
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
  • Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency 
  • Self-motivated with excellent communication and time management skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and quickly under pressure
  • Ability to multitask while working on many moving pieces in a fast paced environment
  • Not required but a plus; Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator)
  • Flexible work schedule that may include nights and weekends

The Production Equipment and Props Associate will report directly to the Pre-Production Senior Manager

Currently, the Production Equipment and Props Associate has no personnel reporting directly to him or her

All the action takes place at our BRAND NEW studio in Burbank, CA!
