Job Description

MSG Ventures is looking for a Student Associate to support production at an end-to-end scale from capture through post for the newly created MSG Sphere Studios in Burbank. As the creative content shop for the MSG Sphere projects, we strive for the best content creation, delivering content that has never been witnessed before on displays that have never been seen in this scale.

Working in collaboration across the MSG production and production finance ecosystem, this role provides support with daily operation and administrative duties as well as occasional on set duties. Ideal candidates will be personable, dependable, self-starters who have a strong work ethic and act with a sense of urgency. They will have the ability to multi-task, organize, and prioritize and will anticipate the needs of their department and work proactively. This position would be responsible for assisting the production and production accounting staff and would report to the Sr. Production Coordinator. Daily duties would range from logistical support to document management and running errands with occasional on set duties. Additional responsibilities include supporting wrap procedures with topsheet creation and expense reconciliations.

Student Associate Program Overview

This program is designed to create real, valuable opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to learn, grow, and explore MSG Entertainment, MSG Sports, and Sphere. As a Student Associate, you will gain valuable experience that will be applicable throughout your career. While participating in the Student Associate Program, students will have the opportunity to work with our employees to get a full understanding of the business. We also provide additional learning and development opportunities through an executive speaker series, mentorship program, career development workshops, and other social events.

Role Responsibilities
  • General office admin duties including file organization, document management, updating project calendars and production binders, etc.
  • Wrap procedures including topsheet creation, Concur report reconciliation
  • Assisting production team with travel logistics as necessary including conducting travel related research, creating travel itineraries, and facilitating timely and clear communications with travel agencies
  • Supporting Production Assistant to manage production supply inventory and shipping needs
  • Performing on set tasks including conducting runs, crafty distribution, lock-ups, etc. in a timely manner
  • Aiding in general department operations efforts as needed
What do you need to succeed?
  • Office production and on set assistant experience
  • Eager to learn the Sphere production and accounting processes
  • Comfortable engaging with supervisors, leads, production executives, and artists
  • Excellent skills in collaboration and communication both oral and written
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office 360, Slack, and Airtable
  • Must be a team player and work well under tight deadlines
Availability: 
  • Must be available to work minimum 21 hours a week (3 business days)/maximum 35 hours a week. Must be available October 2024 – April 2025.
  • Role is based in Burbank, CA. No location flexibility.
