Job Description

Philadelphia Jewish Film and Media (PJFM) is seeking an organized and enthusiastic Program Coordinator to assist with its UNAPOLOGETICALLY JEWISH social media initiative. This temporary, part-time position is expected to start mid-March 2024 and go through to mid-September.

Under the guidance of PJFM, the Program Coordinator will manage eight contestants who are selected to create their own digital content for the initiative from May – September 2024, concluding with them showcasing their works at Digital Chutzpah 2024! PJFM’s Digital Media Festival, taking place September 19-22, 2024, at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History.

Primary Responsibilities:
• In collaboration with the PJFM professional team, assist with the planning and implementation of UNAPOLOGETICALLY JEWISH.
• Serve as the primary contact for the contestants.
• Coordinate meetings with contestants, staff, and key stakeholders.
• Coordinate event logistics.
• Assist all contestants with their digital projects through weekly check-ins.
• Collect and update weekly social media metrics for all contestants’ digital projects in Microsoft Excel.
• Update the PJFM team and ensure that the digital content is being crafted and completed as scheduled.
• Perform administrative tasks.
• Serve as primary coordinator and contact for UNAPOLOGETICALLY JEWISH outreach.
• Assist with marketing.

Qualifications and Requirements:
• A strong knowledge base of Jewish content, ranging from traditional Jewish texts to contemporary Jewish wisdom, culture, and unconventional Jewish content.
• An ability to facilitate complex conversations about Judaism and Israel in a way that is approachable and meets people at various points in their personal Jewish journeys.
• A deep passion for building pluralistic communities and creating welcoming, vibrant, inclusive, and deeply enriching environments.
• Creative problem-solving, proactive communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work well independently and be a part of a team where prioritizing, multi-tasking, organization, and attention to detail are essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Proficiency in social media analytics.
• Reliable transportation to in-person events.
• Strong interest in social media is preferred.
• Interest in film, digital media, and/or film festivals is preferred, but not required.
• Appreciation and understanding or willingness to practice and improve marketing skills.

The Program Coordinator will work an average of 15 hours a week, beginning mid-March 2024. This is a hybrid position. The Program Coordinator should be available to attend Pitch, Like, & Subscribe! Launch Night of UNAPOLOGETICALLY JEWISH (May 9, location TBD) and Opening and Closing Nights of Digital Chutzpah 2024! PJFM’s Digital Media Festival (September 19 and 22 at the Weitzman National Museum of American Jewish History), both in-person events. Flexibility to work nights and weekends is required.
