Job Description
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
- Under the supervision of the Head, Assistant Head, and Leads of the Props Department, the Props Technician will collaborate with other theatrical departments during the performances, rehearsals, and/or maintenance work with the goal of presenting and entertainment experience beyond our guest's expectations.
- · Run cue tracks to position and operate show props as directed for performances, artist training and maintenance
- · Inspect and maintain show props and related equipment
- · Update maintenance and inspection records as directed by departmental leadership
- · Maintain a safe working environment at all times by conforming to establish safety policies and procedures
- · Participate in required safety classes and emergency rescue procedure training
- · Maintain cue track documentation and participate in cue track rotation as directed by departmental leadership
- · Develop a thorough knowledge of prop equipment specific to the production in order to operate equipment safely
- · Collaborate on special projects including the construction and installation of new show props and puppet elements
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- · High school diploma or equivalent
- · Three (3) years of experience in a professional theatrical environment as a props technician with and In-depth knowledge of theatrical props for large scale productions
- · Work varied shifts, to include weekends and holidays
