Job Description

SUPERVISION:

Supervision is provided by the Media Systems Specialist, the Appointing Authority, or a designee. This position involves working independently, which requires a highly self-motivated and directed individual with a keen attention to detail. This position may also supervise and provide direction to interns or other positions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Cover Governmental Meetings as scheduled by the Media Systems Specialist.
  • Assist on large scale television productions as required and assigned by the Media Systems Specialist.
  • Video City events (usually when Media Systems Specialist is not available)
  • Performs any related work as requested to meet the needs of Westfield Community Programming.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Willing to train, but one year of video production experience is preferred.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
  • General knowledge of computer based video and audio production systems.
  • Ability to make logical decisions and exercise good judgment within City policies and procedures and Department goals and directives.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to maintain good public relations, to maintain effective collaborative working relationships with City departments, department heads, fellow employees, officials, and general public, and to respond in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to understand and follow directions and take the initiative in completing assignments and projects as per deadlines.
  • Must be detail oriented in all functions of the job.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Physical Skills

May involve lifting, moving, and/or transporting of heavy objects weighing up to 30 pounds. Position may require squatting, bending, kneeling, or getting into tight paces to assist with Production equipment and peripherals.

Motor Skills

Position involves sedentary and light work with some pulling and pushing, generally of desk and file drawers. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components, including tools.
