Job Description

Overview: 
The function of the Public Relations Coordinator position is to provide support for the publicity team across nonfiction, scripted series and films. Responsibilities include but are not limited to compiling daily clips and show clip packets, maintaining press lists, building talent itineraries, and tracking incoming materials for launch. 

This position is largely self-prioritized based on the daily changing needs of the publicists and the unexpected requests or deadlines triggered by internal or external requests. Organization, time management and prioritizing are the key elements in decision-making for success in this position and to the overall effectiveness of the department. Should be resourceful in responding to last-minute press deadlines and knowing where to get, and how to disseminate, the most accurate information for members of the press and other constituents. The Coordinator must be responsible in deciding when to notify others of issues on the many day-to-day requests that may arise.

Responsibilities:
  • Support publicity campaigns for nonfiction, reality and scripted projects, contributing to brainstorms, strategy planning, research, pitching and press outreach
  • Compiling daily press clippings and building show and/or film clip packets to send to executives and producers
  • Collecting press materials and managing distributions throughout the lifecycle of the project, including synopsis, photos, credits and production notes, and screen and identify clips to be used for press, panels, etc 
  • Building talent itineraries for press days and press related events.
  • Building and maintaining targeted press lists
  • Manage project status reports
  • Contribute to Film Festival strategy with support via submissions and asset delivery
  • Complete all digital DCP submissions to distribution team for each festival/screening event (50+)
  • Work directly with festival contacts to ensure delivery and execution across all aspects of technical delivery, assets, materials
  • Book and manage talent travel and itineraries for festivals, press days, TCA, premieres, etc.
  • Working with the social and corporate team to deliver social assets to talent and producers
  • Assist in hiring and managing department interns
  • Assisting at screenings, TCA or special events as directed
  • Tracking competitive landscape
  • Fielding general press and vendor calls and emails and routing to the appropriate party
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with concentration in Communications, Media or other related field a plus. 
  • 1+ years of previous experience in publicity at a network, streaming platform, studio or agency. 
  • Computer savvy – knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and basic database skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Requires good judgement, and ability to prioritize and be resourceful

  • Ability to adapt to changing situations
  • Excellent knowledge of the internet and current and emerging social media platforms
Hiring Salary Range: $42,400.00 - 60,000.00.
