Job Description

Intrepid Studios is looking for a highly motivated and talented Senior Graphics Engineer to join our Engineering team here in beautiful Southern California. You will help our game come to life by working alongside other graphics developers in Unreal to improve the quality of the rendering systems and the performance of cross platform high level graphics architecture!

Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years game industry programming experience
  • At least one AAA title shipped as a contributing graphics engineer
  • Strong knowledge of C++
  • Experience writing Graphic Shaders (HLSL, GLSL, Cg)
  • In-depth Experience with Low Level Real-Time Rendering Technologies & API’s (DirectX 12)
  • Fully Proficient in 3d Math (Linear Algebra, Vector/Matrix Math, Quaternions, etc.)
  • Passion for graphics programming and staying on top of current techniques
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical graphics concepts to a wide range of audiences
  • Must be a self-motivated and energetic team player with a very strong work ethic and cooperative attitude
  • Desire and ability to mentor more junior engineers on your team
  • Expertise with Unreal Engine 5, including the graphics pipeline
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
What You’ll Be Doing
  • Develop and maintain high-quality and performant rendering engine systems within Unreal Engine
  • Maintain existing systems, improving performance, testability and stability
  • Work with cross-functional teams to bring new engine features to selected external partner platforms
  • Closely collaborate with our other developers in the development of Unreal.
  • Build automated tests for new features and bug fixes
Extra awesome:
  • Understanding of the modern engine systems and rendering architectures and 
  • Familiarity with global lighting methods, dynamic lighting, shadow rendering and similar concepts
  • Strong understanding of computer shaders & compute driven graphics pipelines
  • Experience working on real-world productions or large multi-platform engines
  • Prior MMO development experience and/or passion for MMO games
  • Experience developing rendering techniques and implementing white papers

We offer competitive pay based on market standards plus a significant annual bonus structure. The base salary for this role is between $125,000 - $187,500, depending on skills and experience.
