Job Description

Under the direction of the Supervisor, Media Operations, you will perform multiple responsibilities to provide Media Operations and Network Operation support to live and off-line broadcasts. This includes prioritizing, planning, and completing the assigned operational workload and maintaining best working practices.

Your Impact
  • You will be responsible for all incoming live and remote feeds and booking and scheduling of remote broadcasts.
  • You will provide high-level oversight to all transmission needs for the network.
  • You will maintain the output of all live and non-live channels and monitor the NOC dashboard to troubleshoot any broadcast network devices.
  • You will do Quality control and integrity checks of all incoming and outgoing video and audio signals.
  • You will take on a leadership role to ensure that the Media Operations team meet operational standards.
  • You will operate all equipment associated with the Media Operations systems.
  • You will provide troubleshooting and support for transmission, control room systems, still store, play out, graphics, cameras, robotics, switchers and routers.
  • You will repair and troubleshoot broadcast and electronic equipment. Perform equipment installation and debugging.
  • You will maintain the transmission and communication systems to ensure maximum reliability for all QVC platforms.
  • You will provide training on how to repair and setup equipment/systems.
  • You will recommend ways of preventing equipment and systems failure, ensure that these recommendations are well documented.
  • You will work with transmission providers regarding escalation, issues, maintenance and performance.
  • You will maintain all communications for live transmission and outside broadcast productions.
What You Bring
  • Minimum Education: College Degree, Technical school, Military training or equivalent combination of training and experience required.
  • Minimum Experience: Three to five years of recent leadership experience in engineering, media operations or network operations in a television broadcast environment.
  • Understanding of the television production processes, broadcast operations and technical production requirements.
  • Working knowledge of computers including Windows NT, LAN/WAN network architecture and Mac experience.
