Job Description
We are seeking a Sr. Political Producer to join the team at Scripps News, the national news network of the E.W. Scripps Company. This position is in Atlanta, GA.
What You'll Do:
What You'll Do:
- Oversee all scheduling of segments with producers;
- Manage show boards;
- Work with Co-Exec Producer to stack and plan daily shows;
- Communicate creative and timing needs to producers;
- Oversee the scheduling of all shoots, editing and airing of pieces;
- Support the Co-Exec Producer in oversight of all studio/stand-up elements as they relate to each segment;
- Oversee and produce elements of sweeps programming and weekend episodes;
- Work with other Senior Producers to manage content flow and build each weekend show
- Pitch and produce top of the show elements for daily broadcast;-managing the in-studio aspects of the show as it relates to talent stand-ups and segments;
- Oversee all morning voice-over and talent needs;
- Fact-checking and oversight of final product before the feed;
- Work with the other Senior Producers to manage content flow;
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor degree preferred
- 8+ years experience with a national news
What You'll Need:
- Strong communication skills
- Demonstrated interest and understanding of campaign politics and issues
