Job Description
What you'll do:
- Manage a robust schedule of cut ins throughout the day; working with writers, show producers and reporters/anchors both within CNBC and our “clients”
- Supervise the writing team; brainstorming story idea and copy editing scripts
- Coach and mentor writing staff
- Write and produce content daily to include copy, video and chyrons
- Work closely with the newsdesk and planning team to assess resources each day
- Communicate with our “clients”
- Coordinate scheduling issues with the newsdesk on all issues, including camera needs, hit time changes, etc
- Ability to source both Business and General News stories and know which content to offer to which outlets

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 8 years of Editorial experience in a fast-paced news room environment, ability to anticipate and respond quickly to change
- Ability to write, edit and translate a story into a headline
- Experience developing producer talent

- Possess ability to develop story ideas, research and plan
- Working knowledge of wire services for both content and video
- Strong writing skills
- Sound journalistic judgment
- Strong time management skills
