The Sr. Producer will help lead development, editorial planning, production, coordination, and publishing / storytelling strategy across platforms, with a focus on short-form storytelling on social media and emerging platforms.
The ideal candidate possesses a strong command of the entire digital video and social media ecosystem, with a focus on short-form video storytelling. You’re a native user of TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and other emerging digital platforms, with an intrinsic working knowledge of trends and audience preferences in those spaces. You’re laser-focused on editorial and production best practices, with great attention to detail and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. You know how to develop and execute thematic, series-driven approaches to video to delight audiences, partners, and sponsors.
Excellent editorial judgement and knowledge / passion for a range of verticals, including lifestyle, tech, news, and entertainment, is essential.
The Sr. Producer will be a key stakeholder within USA TODAY Studios and the broader USA TODAY Network video organization, involved in developing, strategizing and planning a range of other franchises and projects as well.
The role requires a hands-on leader and excellent communicator, with the ability to interface with editors, producers, reporters, product and sales teams around the USA TODAY Network. Management of staff and contractors is also a possibility.
The role is preferably based in New York City, Washington, DC, Atlanta, or Phoenix.
Responsibilities:
- Produce, manage, and grow a slate of short-form video franchises.
- Manage publishing process to ensure content is optimized across multiple platforms.
- Work with the broader video team, digital distribution team, content and sales teams, across the USA TODAY Network to maximize reach and impact of franchises.
- Help manage and grow relationships with outside content creators across a range of topic areas.
- Manage staff and contract producers and editors.
- Be immersed premium digital content trends to ensure our franchises stay ahead of the curve.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in communications, journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 7+ years of professional experience in digital media with a focus on show-running, video production, and editorial.
- In-depth experience in all editorial and production aspects of premium digital video.
- Experience producing video for digital platforms in multiple formats.
- Strong writing and editorial decision-making skills.
- Strong leadership skills, ability to manage employees.
- Understanding of Web technology, CMS systems, digital video, digital audio, streaming, video editing, and Web analytics.

The annualized base salary for this role will range between $48,094 and $113,203.
