Job Description

This role will manage the Social Content Creator and the Digital Video Editor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Collaborate and work closely with content producers and other editors within the organization to understand, visualize and complete video projects
  • Video editing for long and short form content on various platforms with an emphasis on digital-first and social media
  • Create finished video pieces according to scripts or the instructions of directors, producers or project owners
  • Review edited content for quality control and make proper adjustments
  • Manage identified members of the content team with the objective of maximizing performance and productivity, including, providing coaching, development, scheduling, work assignments and performance evaluations
  • Determine the specific audio and visual effects and music necessary to complete projects; understand rules regarding music usage and licensing
  • Cut shot sequences to different angles at specific points in scenes, making each individual cut as fluid and seamless as possible
  • Current with the latest video editing trends, techniques and best practices as they apply to current and emerging distribution platforms
  • Participate in content brainstorming sessions
  • Volunteer original content ideas for approval
  • Travel if necessary
  • Special projects as business dictates
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree
  • 7 years minimum of non-linear editing experience in a professional environment
  • Mastery of digital video editing techniques and systems with an emphasis on Adobe Premier
  • Solid understanding of special effects, 3D and compositing
  • Mastery of storytelling through video
  • Experience creating motion graphics
  • Experience as camera operator and/or in lighting techniques a plus
  • Experience managing video shoots, in-studio and on-location
