Job Description

In your role as a Video Producer / Videographer / Editor, you will join a dynamic and talented in-house team of creative professionals that range from graphic designers, motion graphic designers, 3D animators, producers, directors, editors and videographers. Together we support the firm’s varied and diverse design and production needs.

You’ll join our in-house National Design studio in EY Canada’s Creative Services Group, helping support the important business enablement functions that keep our organization running strong. You will work across teams to provide the knowledge, resources and tools that help EY deliver exceptional quality service to our clients, win in the marketplace and support EY’s growth and profitability. 

Your key responsibilities
  • Ability to work on your own, or collaborate with a Director or Creative Director on concept development, scripting or script editing, blocking, creating shot lists
  • Production planning, scheduling and budgeting
  • Shooting on your own and/or with a team using any or a combination of the following gear: Sony FX3 cameras, Ronin gimbals, sliders, teleprompters (production sizes vary, and can be 1, 2 or 3 camera shoots)
  • Experience with lighting techniques and the ability to successfully light interview subjects and sets in a variety of scenarios
  • Edit compelling scripted and unscripted video productions using a variety of stock video, filmed video, animations or simply text and photos
  • Edit 10, 20, 30 second social media spots in various formats and aspect ratios
  • Able to understand and execute on detailed editing notes and revisions from Creative Director, Director or stakeholders
  • Is detail oriented and displays a high level of technical and design quality control, and content accuracy
  • Learn and adhere to brand guidelines, but suggest ways to push the creative boundaries when appropriate
  • Is organized, proactive and keeps internal clients up-to-date on status
  • Able to pivot between multiple projects simultaneously and can plan for and deliver on tight deadlines
  • Keep project files highly organized
  • Research, analyze and share leading edge editing tips, production techniques, creative concepts and solutions in our creative team meetings

  • Experienced in all aspects of production – from concept development, storyboarding, scripting, blocking, scheduling, scouting, filming, audio recording, lighting techniques, directing talent, interviewing, editing, post-sound, and delivery.
  • A strong eye for visual composition
  • Calm and confident under pressure
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines
  • Able to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Quality control and double-checking content of each output should be second nature
  • Ability to think strategically to relate design work to the client's business needs
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teaming skills
  • Professionalism and understanding of set etiquette, and the roles of each crew member
  • Ability to lead and manage multiple assignments
  • Strong knowledge of post-production workflow
  • Solid understanding of video formats, mediums and compression techniques
  • Effective use of typography, brand colours, images and fonts, allowing for legibility and functionality
  • Creative and technical expertise with Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud, Mac and Windows platforms
  • Understanding of Microsoft Office software including SharePoint
  • Understanding of copyright rules and regulations
To qualify for the role you must have
  • A minimum of 7 years of video production experience
  • Post-Secondary Diploma or degree specializing in film, television or video production
