Job Description

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic team player join The Weather Channel television network’s social media team. This person will be responsible for the daily creation and scheduling of content and creative across all social media channels, including, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and Tiktok. A successful candidate will be responsible for managing and supporting social campaigns for live and original programming – with best-in-class creative stunts, social writing, as well as creative asset development and delivery. This role involves cross-functional collaboration with multiple business functions across the Marketing and Programming team. This role is based out of the Atlanta office.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Develop, write, and post highly professional and optimized social media content within deadlines
  • Work with the Social Media Manager, Social Producer, editorial team, and other stakeholders to plan, execute and improve the success of social media campaigns across relevant platforms
  • Create and manage a content calendar, ensuring consistent and timely delivery of high-quality content across all social media channels
  • Elevate the overall content of brand across myriad social media channels
  • Develop creative concepts that can be executed across social platforms in accordance with industry standards and best practices
  • Work with management to improve and streamline processes
  • Analyze social media metrics and provide regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of editorial content and identify areas for improvement
  • Keep your finger on the pulse of relevant news, events, and cultural moments and leverage them to create engaging and shareable content
Basic Qualifications:
  • College graduate, Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising or Communications preferred
  • 3-5 years of work experience in social media 
  • Working proficiency of various Social Media Management tools and other key programs such as: Adobe Creative Suite, Sprout Social, Google Suite, and Canva
  • Understanding of social analytics 
  • Strong social writing and communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively multi-task and able to react to spontaneous changes in priorities
  • Familiarity with social media advertising tool and strategies is a plus
  • Familiarity with weather and/or The Weather Channel brand a plus
