Job Description

The E.W. Scripps Company is seeking a Sr. Director, EDI Strategic Partner.  Work closely with the Chief Diversity Officer (CDO) to execute the development of strategic initiatives to promote, sustain and evolve the company’s equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) strategy.  This is a hybrid position located in Cincinnati, OH.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Assist with the development of strategic goals and tactics that catalyze, advance, and scale the EDI strategy and best practices at the company.
  • Collaborate with CDO to review all company data to assess impact and provide strategic recommendations to gauge EDI strategy effectiveness.
  • Assist with ongoing collection, investigation, research, and analysis local and national strategy, data or other information affecting programs, initiatives in support EDI and company initiatives.
  • Serves as regular contributor to EDI events, programs, and initiatives that foster and promote employee inclusion, belonging, engagement, and psychological safety.
  • Collaborate internally to promote and provide all operational support for EDI events, programs, and initiatives.
  • Follow current and emerging issues and trends in EDI and make weekly relevant recommendations to the HR/EDI teams.
  • Consult with the extended HR/EDI teams to integrate EDI goals into strategic decisions throughout the organization.
  • Develop and implement a monthly EDI all staff communication that supports knowledge and understanding of EDI concepts, topics, and tools.
  • As assigned, represent EDI on advisory/ad hoc member of various company working groups including, employe resource groups and committees.
  • Identify, create or design written resources, based on current EDI information to promote best in class EDI practices that effectively communicate and build internal and external relationships.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
  • BS/BA in a related discipline or equivalent years of experience preferred
  • Generally, 10+ years of experience in a related field preferred
  • Prior managerial experience preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership and experience in advancing equity, diversity, and inclusion within a corporation
  • Proven track record of program implementation and strategic planning
  • Success in relationship building and a track record of leveraging resources to accomplish strategic objectives.
  • Experience gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data and statistical reports related to EDI, through both quantitative and qualitative research.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
  • Knowledge of current EDI research, best practices, and challenges to recommend and assess the effectiveness of EDI programming.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and relationship-building skills with the ability to work and influence cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work independently, strong planning and operational skills.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills working across a wide range of audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple initiatives and deliverables at the same time.
