Job Description
Scripps News is seeking a Sr. Producer to join our Live News Tea. This individual will be responsible for managing all pre-production and daily production of assigned show(s).
What You’ll Do:

- Oversee all scheduling of segments with producers;
- Plan content for branded segments and manage execution
- Work with Exec Producer to stack and plan daily shows;
- Communicate creative and timing needs to producers;
- Oversee the scheduling of all shoots, editing and airing of pieces;
- Support the Exec Producer in oversight of all studio/stand-up VizRT elements as they relate to each segment;
- Identify newsmakers and key voices for guest booking
- Work with other shows’ Senior Producers to manage content flow and build unique content that unifies network priorities
- Building and maintaining relationships with entertainment publicists to keep the show current with local celebrity press tours;
Day-of-show responsibilities:
- Exercise strong news judgement in the control and help Line Producers navigate changes to rundown to accommodate breaking news
- Work with Line Producers and Segment Producers to create high-production value for branded segments
- Maintain show priorities and maintain Network integrity
- Monitor feeds and news agencies for developing and breaking news
- Fact-checking and oversight of final product before air
- Work with the other Senior Producers to manage content flow;
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor degree preferred
- 8+ years experience in live news programming including control room experience
