Job Description

We are seeking a Stage Specialist as part of our growing Studio Management and Services team based out of Brooklyn, New York. This position will be responsible for supporting  all stage and production support needs and reports to the Senior Manager, Studio Management and Services (UCAN).

The Role
A successful candidate will be passionate, self-motivated, proactive, quick-thinking, flexible, able to pivot when necessary, thorough and able to juggle multiple and diverse responsibilities with a strong emphasis on organization and an unwavering attention to detail at all times. This is a demanding and fast moving position that requires someone who is a proactive and positive thinker, and able to exercise good judgment and communication. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all productions, landlord, vendors, partners and Netflix team. 
  • Manage stage access and needs for day-to-day production activity on site
  • Work with production representatives and landlord to support production with their power, rigging and electrical needs at site.
  • Oversight of entire site production activity - Studio Lot/ Fence Line/ Stages each day.
  • Responsible for communicating production requests with site team 
  • Assist with studio access for maintenance and repairs
  • Track and communicate all daily stage usage including ancillary billing needs / requests from production to internal and external partners. 
  • Work with Studio Safety, Site Manager and landlord to identify, report and address any safety issues or hazards on site. 
  • Communicate and enforce Netflix and site rules and regulations to production (in coordination with Studio Safety Manager)
  • Support stage and site tours (production scouts and internal partners)
  • Set up drive-ons, notify on site team of daily production activity, and prepare and distribute relevant  production schedules
  • Manage communications regarding all production schedules on site to security, landlord and other partners. 
  • Update and distribute daily production schedules to internal stakeholders
  • Timely upkeep of workflow documents.
  • Other studio related tasks as assigned
Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in Film and Television production experience required
  • Knowledge and experience in production terminology supporting various departments (i.e., Construction, Location, Rigging Grip, Rigging Electric, Set Dec., Costumes, Hair & Make-Up, SPFX, Casting, Production Office, Stunts, etc.) 
  • Understanding of facility and stage operations - HVAC, power, rigging loads, floor weight loads, etc.
  • Candidate should be decisive, able to work under strict deadlines, prioritize issues, multitask and adjust to rapid changes in a dynamic production environment
  • Team player with an ability to supervise multiple productions in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to be discreet and handle confidential information.
  • Strong understanding of local production regulations (safety and permitting requirements), EHS and facility safety regulations (ex, hazardous waste materials, special effects, etc.)
  • Ability to lift 100lbs
  • Strong understanding of local union rules and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Sheets, Gmail, G-Drive, MS Word, Excel. AirTable a plus.
  • Willingness to continue learning to ensure understanding of current production process and equipment and studios.
  • Willingness to take educated risks and think out of the box.
  • Create a positive atmosphere of professionalism and support
  • A self-starter, who is able to work effectively and drive projects to completion.
  • A great communicator that can build strong working relationships with vendors, internal and external partners.
  • Certifications in OSHA Aerial Boom, Scissor, Rough Terrain, and Warehouse ForkLifts, DEEP Hazmat, FSO training (provided by Fire Marshal’s Office), Incipient firefighting techniques & fire extinguisher selection and use, HAZWOPER, are a plus.
The range for this role is $58,000 - $230,000.
