- Responsible for reliable sound mix, color correction and media management
- Keep tabs on current digital video and social trends around the industry and apply them in edit
- Communicate effectively and in a timely manner with editorial
- Collaborate on a regular basis with producers on video edits and manage expectations
- Multi-task and juggle multiple edits for regular and breaking-news programming
- Prepping deliverables for web, social and streaming networks
- Quality checking all video content prior to delivery
- Keeping editorial and edit supervisor looped in on edit timeline and expected delivery
Salary range: $90,000-$120,000.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of professional experience as a video editor
- Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite with expertise in Premiere Pro
- Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment in a cloud-based environment
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others
- Ability to work with tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
- Strong knowledge of current events and passion for journalism
- Ability to adhere to NBC News Standards and Practices
- Proven news judgment and high ethical standards
- Comfortable working across broadcast and digital systems, have proper media management training for remote editing
- Maintain proficiency with emerging edit software and workflows
- Must be willing to work in NY, NY
