Job Description

Responsibilities:
  • Oversee development, some current and casting for drama Series
  • Field pitches, identify trends, and help establish the strategic development goals for the drama department
  • Must attend major industry events and screenings, pulse on emerging talent and active participant in the creative community
  • Build and maintain relationships with production and/or co-production partners
  • Identify new business opportunities, pursuing potential deals where appropriate
  • Provide notes on cuts and scripts
  • Find and pitch new material to executive leadership
  • Provide notes on story concepts, outlines and scripts for projects in development
  • Introduce new writers to the studio with the potential for future development
  • Work with Business Affairs to close talent and production deals
  • Work with Production to ensure that agreed to concepts are fully realized in production
  • Supervise the production of series, attend shoots, and work with the Executive Producers and production finance and planning to solve budget issues
  • Build and maintain relationships with producers, directors, and production companies
Requirements:
  • 6 years minimum experience in drama television development at a Network or Streaming Service, Hands-on experience, ideally from both a production and a development stand-point
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Must have Experience in either generating and taking pitches for a production company OR taking pitches for a network or cable network Strong relationships with the agent and production community
  • Must have sound editorial judgement with a background in producing, writing and content development is a plus
  • Assertive, enthusiastic, and highly motivated self-starter, polished with good interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationships with Talent, Agents, Managers, Writers, and Producers
